RP21 Proceedings

The VII Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in the Americas and the Caribbean was held under the theme “Building resilient economies in the Americas and the Caribbean”. The event took place at a pivotal time, as populations across the world looked towards social and economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, as countries convened at the COP26 to define commitments with regards to the climate crisis, and as States in the region reviewed the Regional Action Plan for the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 in the Americas and the Caribbean and looked towards assessing the progress made so far with regards to the implementation of the Sendai Framework and the achievement of its targets.
