The goal of this facilitated Learning Lab is to strengthen the mutual understanding of IBF services, which routinely operate to provide actionable information on the potential impact of hazards, in a form that the general public, disaster managers, the private sector and other stakeholders understand and can use to protect lives, livelihoods, assets and property. This session will seek to:
- Introduce the concepts of Early Warning Services and Impact-Based Forecasting
- Build mutual understanding on the depth and breadth of opportunities and challenges in strengthening the availability of and access to impact-based multi-hazard early warning services delivering actionable disaster risk information to all people.
- Create a “living document” of collective intelligence on IBF to nourish current initiatives with views and opinions of different stakeholders and interested parties on impact-based multi-hazard early warning services.
