Agenda

 

The Agenda will include Plenary Sessions / High-level dialogues, which will aim at connecting global discussions with regional priorities. The event will have numerous Parallel Sessions that will cover important aspects for the implementation of the priorities of the Sendai Framework and the Regional Action Plan in the region. These sessions are important to share learning and exchange best practices in disaster risk reduction of multiple stakeholders across sectors. The VIII Regional Platform will also host a Ministerial Meeting, in which Ministers and High-Level Government representatives of different sectors take stock of the challenges and opportunities as well as mark the priorities for the implementation of the Sendai Framework in the region for the next two years. The output of this meeting is a Ministerial Declaration.

A limited number of side events will be available for partners. They will have a standard duration of 60 minutes and will take place in the main conference venue, as well as in online modality (6 in person and 6 online).

 

  • Learning Labs

Several learning labs sessions will offer facilitated peer-to-peer learning opportunities on specific topics relevant to the themes of the Regional Platform. A small-scale setting of 20-30 participants during 60 minutes will provide an effective environment for peer-to-peer learning, knowledge and experience sharing.

 

  • Expo

The Expo is an exhibition area consisting of booths that different participating institutions can book for a fee to showcase their products, projects and services. Instructions to apply and request market-place spaces will be available at a later date.
